Message from the Director

I started dancing when I was 6 years old. I often wonder what path my life would have taken if my mom had not taken me to that very first ballet lesson. That first ballet class totally shaped my life. Dance was at first fun. Then it became a wonderful challenge…and then a passion! All of the things I have learned to value in life have come to me through dance:

Strong family relationships: My parents always supported my choices to pursue dance as a passion and a career. In fact, my mom and I still share a strong connection to dance to this day.

My friendship with my Ballet teacher: Although she could be quite opinionated (as many ballet instructors are!) we ended up becoming roommates in NYC. She became a lifelong friend and mentor.

My best friends: Every close friendship I have developed over the course of my lifetime thus far came from a connection to the arts.

Life experiences: The memories, opportunities, and relationships I have collected by performing and traveling doing what I loved to do are immeasurable.

Finally, the feeling that you have contributed or given back something during your lifetime, is priceless. I truly believe that I have accomplished that with this school. At The Dance Corner, we have created a dance environment where everyone is welcomed. I feel like my life has come full circle and it is now my precious opportunity to impact the life path of a new generation of dancers.

Whether you are just checking out dance for fun or have been bitten by the bug like I was at a young age, I hope that The Dance Corner will be the dance home for you. Come visit us and discover what #TheDanceCornerLife really means. We can’t wait to welcome you.

"TDC feels like home, because everyone there is so kind. We really have to thank our incredible teachers for that because they instill in us that we are all here because we love dance. It’s a completely judgment free zone and everyone is truly their authentic selves. Everyone cares so much about each other and that is what really makes it feel like home. I’ve never been a part of anything in my life that makes me feel so safe and so welcomed as when I’m at TDC. TDC is such a supportive and loving space, it’s so incredibly hard to put into words what makes it home because everything about it makes it feel like home."
