The following policies and procedures are in place to ensure every dancer remains safe, engaged, and focused on learning, while allowing our teachers to maintain the highest quality instruction.
General Student Guidelines
To maintain a safe, clean, and respectful learning environment:
No gum is allowed anywhere in the studio.
Food and drinks may only be consumed in the waiting area. Water is permitted in dance spaces.
Students must wear the required attire and footwear for their dance style (see class descriptions for details).
Street clothes are not permitted in class.
Jewelry is not allowed, except for small stud earrings.
Preschool Parent Policy
For the safety and comfort of our youngest dancers:
During Class: Parents are strongly encouraged to remain in the waiting area for the full class. This allows for quick assistance if your child needs the restroom, is feeling unwell, or is having difficulty following along.
If You Must Step Out: Please arrange for another parent or trusted adult in the waiting area to assist your child while you are away.
End-of-Class Pickup: A parent or guardian must be inside the waiting area at the scheduled end time of class.
Student Release: Preschool students will only be released when a parent/guardian enters the building—no curbside handoffs are permitted.
Student Pickup & Dropoff
To ensure safety and comply with West Windsor Township law:
All parents must park in designated parking spaces when dropping off or picking up dancers.
Curbside waiting in vehicles is not permitted. Please come inside to collect your child promptly at the end of class.

Snow days
Personal absences
Missed classes due to performances, dress rehearsals, competitions, or other studio events
Details
Our school years for 39 weeks (winter break not included)
Make-ups can be taken anytime during the same academic year but do not carry over to the next session.
Classes during dress rehearsal and recital weeks should be made up in advance. No advance notice is required for attending a make-up class, but a make-up form must be completed (available from the office or instructor).
Make-ups must be for a similar-level class and cannot be used to join a recital routine.
For assistance selecting a make-up class, contact the Directors at dance@thedancecorner.org
Medical Exceptions:
Tuition credit will be issued with a doctor’s note for extended illness or injury.
Credits are valid for one year and may only be applied to future tuition.
For team classes, credits are not issued for injury-related absences, as attendance (including observation) is required.
For the safety and legal protection of our dancers and families, all students must have a signed waiver of liability on file before participating in any class, program, or event. We also encourage all dancers to sign a photo/video release, which is required for any student performing in recitals or other public events. If you’ve already completed these forms for a prior class or program, you do not need to submit them again.
